Dr. Dan Johnson
Doctor of Chiropractic and Co-Owner
Dr. Dan is a 2005 Loras College Alum and a 2009 graduate of Palmer School of Chiropractic. While at Loras he played soccer all 4 years earning athletic and academic honors from the team, the conference, and regionally. He graduated Cum Laude from Palmer while also serving as a Rehabilitation and Sports Injury Intern, performing Clinical Academic Rotations at the University of Iowa Veterans Administration Hospital, and serving on the Palmer Sports Council.
Upon graduation from Palmer Dr. Dan accepted a position in Clinton, IA where he worked for 2 years. He continued to serve the community by provide chiropractic care for Ashford University student-athletes and being active on the Clinton Chamber of Commerce.
Dr. Dan co-found Spine and Sport in 2009. He has taught Musculo-Skeletal Anatomy and Biomechanics at Loras and also provided care on campus at Loras College to student-athletes working closely with the athletic training staff. Dr. Dan has given presentations at University of Northern Iowa, Clarke University, and Loras College on topics varying from co-treatment of athletes to running a sports clinic.
Dr. Johnson has been certified in Active Release Techniques since 2009 and is an Iowa Board Certified Chiropractor.
Dr. Dan and his wife, Liza, stay busy with their 3 children Colin, Brooke, and Luke while also finding time to enjoy numerous running and sporting events. In 2009, he qualified for the Boston Marathon with a time of 3:09.
Dr. Joshua Nagle
Doctor of Chiropractic and Co-Owner
Dr. Josh is a native of Dubuque, IA. In 2011, he graduated Magna Cum Laude from Palmer College of Chiropractic with his Doctorate in Chiropractic (D.C.) and Bachelors of Science (B.S.). During his study at Palmer, Dr. Josh assisted in the formation of the Palmer College Lacrosse team, serving as team captain and president. He was also a member of Palmer College Sports Council, team lead in the Radiology Lab, and is a member of Pi Kappa Chi professional fraternity.
Upon graduation, Dr. Josh moved back to his hometown to open Spine & Sport Chiropractic Center alongside Dr. Dan. In addition to opening a chiropractic office, he has coached youth basketball, soccer, college lacrosse, and college Anatomy and Physiology at NICC. In 2019, he launched SeeGeorgeGo, Inc an innovative after-school program for high school students.
Dr. Nagle has been certified in Active Release Techniques since 2011 and is an Iowa Board Certified Chiropractor.
Dr. Josh enjoys spending time outside, rock climbing, playing basketball, guitar and hanging out with his dog, Dr. Mars who is an accredited expert in shoe chewing.
Angie joined Spine & Sport in June of 2018. Prior to that she was one of Dr. Dan’s first patients! Angie was born and raised in Waterloo, IA and moved to Dubuque in 2001.
A nurse by trade, Angie “retired” to raise her two daughters; Sarah and Megan. Her husband Hillard is a physician at Grand River Medical.
In her extra time, Angie enjoys mowing the lawn, yard work/gardening, reading, and running. She was the president of the Mississippi Valley Running Association for many years.
Jen started at Spine and Sport in March 2019. She has been a patient of Dan’s over the years and was thrilled to become a part of their team.
Originally from DeWitt IA, Jen and her family settled in Dubuque 15 years ago and have been happy to call it home.
Jen’s husband, Stan, works for Dubuque Community Schools and they have 3 children – Emersen, Colton, and Jack. Outside of spending time with her family, Jen enjoys quilting, reading and spending time outdoors.
Katie joined Spine & Sport in April 2019. She was born and raised in Dubuque, and graduated with honors in Biology, Chemistry and Spanish at Simpson College. While at Simpson, she was the captain of the volleyball team and won All-Conference and All-Tournament honors.
Katie is passionate about health and wellness. She enjoys working on her own nutrition and fitness and well as helping others to be the healthiest they can be.
In her free time, Katie enjoys working out, being active, playing with her puppy, and spending time with her family and husband, Caleb. She also spends time on the volleyball court, coaching her local juniors club team.
